Zone Damper

A zone damper is a movable metal plate or valve inside your heating and cooling ductwork. It opens and closes to control airflow to specific rooms or areas (called “zones”) in your house.

How It Works

• Thermostat Signals: Each zone in your home has its own thermostat.
• Damper Moves: When a specific zone needs heating or cooling, its thermostat sends a signal to a small motor attached to the damper.
• Airflow Control: The motor rotates the damper blade to open and let conditioned air in, or closes it to block air from going to empty rooms.
